It is with great sorrow I have to inform you that

Baron is no longer with us

Baron got sick in his stomach some week ago. He pooped narrow thin stools and clear was that something was not right. At the veterinarian, we concluded that he probably had prostatitis (despite his castration, many years ago). Baron was treated with sulphate and paraffin oil in food for 10 days. Stools were not better, rather worse. He got thinner and lost even a little appetite. Each night Baron also needed to go out and try poop. Last week it felt a bit better again, but this weekend we felt as if there were setbacks again. When your whole life is spent trying to poop - then it has no dignity left and we did all we could do.....

Our thanks goes to veterinarian Michael von Holten, who has known Baron all Baron's life - from the beginning as a puppy til the bitter end. Baron just fell asleep with his head in my hand - I can still feel his warmth in the hand ....
